Our Namesake
Stockbridge is not just a name but a story. It is a story of how our Managing Principal, Scott Gunn, honors his family roots and his artistic heritage. Stockbridge is a small town in Western Massachusetts where Scott’s ancestors lived and where the famous painter Norman Rockwell captured the essence of America in his art.
Norman Rockwell’s iconic depictions of simplicity and authenticity resonate deeply with the American spirit, capturing the essence of everyday life with unparalleled warmth and familiarity. His work, characterized by a keen observation of the human condition, reflects a very real and relatable American experience. Rockwell’s paintings, often infused with humor and a profound respect for his subjects, explore themes of patriotism, gender equality, and racial integration, all rendered in his signature realist style. His “Four Freedoms” series during World War II illuminated the rights every American should enjoy, validating the U.S. decision to enter the war. These works, and many others, have become iconic, standing as a testament to Rockwell’s ability to create art that made viewers “want to sigh and smile at the same time.”
Scott’s family was part of Rockwell’s legacy, as many of his sisters and cousins modeled for some of his iconic paintings. Inspired by this connection, Scott named the Dallas office Stockbridge to reflect his vision of helping clients navigate complex financial issues with clarity and authenticity.

Why Did Scott Become a Financial Advisor
Scott became a Financial Advisor because he wanted to help people avoid the mistakes that cost an NBA Legend, one of his childhood heroes, a fortune. This legendary basketball player lost much of his wealth due to bad financial advice from his business manager. This story inspired Scott to become a financial advisor, so he studied business in high school and college and even earned a law degree.
For over 25 years, Scott has created financial plans and managed portfolios for his clients. In May 2023, he fulfilled his dream of running his own financial services office by launching the Stockbridge Wealth Advisors Office. Stockbridge gives Scott the freedom to offer his clients the best possible solutions without the limitations of a large supervisory firm.

Our Process
Our process begins with getting to know you and your goals. Tell us where you want to go, and we’ll work with you to develop a plan that suits your needs. And as your life changes, we’ll adjust your plan, so it better aligns with your new path.
We believe a detailed planning process can be one of the most effective ways to create financial security. An effective plan may not only provide financial security throughout your life, but it can also reduce the damage disability, critical illness, or other sudden income losses may have.
1. Introductory Meeting
In our first meeting, we’ll identify your goals, priorities, preferences, and any obstacles you may have. We’ll also mutually establish your expectations for us and whether an ongoing partnership is the right fit.
2. Exploration & Preliminary Planning
After our first meeting, we’ll take a deeper dive into your situation. As we have a more detailed conversation about your personal and financial goals, we’ll start sketching a preliminary plan. The more open and transparent this phase is, the more detailed our plan will be.
3. Consider Alternative Courses of Actions
When discussing your personal and financial goals, we’ll consider all the available alternatives and determine the best course of action for your situation.
4. Implement the Financial Plan
Once we’ve set your financial goals and have considered all of the alternative plans, we’ll come up with a final action plan. This plan will address the areas that are most important to you and outline the steps needed to conquer potential obstacles. Your plan will also aim to gain maximum returns via a solid, tax-efficient portfolio.
5. Revisit and Re-Evaluate Your Financial Plan
Wealth management and financial planning are continuous processes that need re-evaluation to ensure that the plan is being followed and that the desired outcomes are achieved. When new priorities lead you to take different approaches to wealth management and savings, we’ll be here to adapt your plan so it transitions along with you.
